Key Account Manager

Position Purpose

This position leads Key Account business growth through new account acquisition and current account management.

Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities

  • Identify and evaluate new customer opportunities.
  • Lead business development and bidding process with large chain/national accounts.
  • Execute sales plans and deliver against annual sales and seasonal objectives.
  • Implement special sales drive as required to achieve planned/forecast sales objectives.
  • Develop good direct working relationships with key accounts in the assigned territory.  This includes:
    • Conducting regular business planning and review meetings with the accounts.
    • Understanding the account strategy as the customer expert and leverage account information to identify new business opportunities and the development/modification of actionable plans to drive sales. Using this information to develop persuasive selling stories.
    • Monitoring the progress of the accounts and modifying plans to maximize growth.
    • Enhancing existing and establishing new business relationships throughout account organization.
    • Responsible for all distribution, training, merchandising, and pricing at key accounts.
    • Managing and resolving unauthorized deductions and other issues of concern with the accounts.
    • Leading customer cross-functional team and all communications to the account.
    • Analyzing and understanding industry market trends, competition (product / packaging / pricing) that may impact sales efforts.
    • Operating the territory within approved expense budget.
    • Forecast distribution volume and display volume within appropriate lead times.
  • Visit customers as necessary to develop and maintain customer relationships and a working knowledge of account base.
  • Attend relevant trade, buying group and consumer shows as needed.
  • Maintain sales files including quotes, contact reports, sales histories, etc.
  • Other projects and tasks as assigned.

Qualifications/Experience Profile

  • Minimum of 7 years sales experience with at least 3 years of sales management experience.
  • Related category and retail channel sales experience, including selling consumer products within the independent or mass retailer channels.
  • Leadership skills with the ability to set direction and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Self-starter/high/energy/results driven with a track record of achieving/exceeding sales volume targets, etc.
  • Demonstrated strong strategic and critical thinking and decision making skills.
  • Strong hands-on orientation with the ability to work independently or in cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve results through highly effective selling skills and the use / knowledge of category management / data-based selling tools.
  • Excellent organizational skills with demonstrated time management and follow-through skills.
  • Strategic and critical thinker – must be able to create and translate a strategy for accounts.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong collaborative and interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain strong relations with customers agencies, sales brokers, etc. and proven ability to negotiate and influence desired outcomes.
  • Proficient in the following systems:  Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CRM, NetSuite and Plus.

Preferred Education

Inside Sales Representative

Position Purpose

eyebobs is seeking a talented and driven inside sales representative who thrives in a high growth, dynamic sales environment. The successful candidate will be comfortable targeting leads and acquiring new customers to meet revenue growth goals. You must be a team player and independently motivated. The successful candidate will be willing to make calls, work with internal and external partners, generate leads, qualify prospects and close sales calling on independent, boutique and national fashion, accessory and optical retailers. The sales representative will report to the Sales Manager, Wholesale Sales,  and work with the sales team to achieve annual sales goals. 

Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities

  • Identifies revenue growth opportunities with existing customers and sells appropriate products to meet sales goals.
  • Prospects, qualifies and generates sales within the company’s established wholesale channels.
  • Communicates with prospects to identify appropriate sales contact(s), qualify and drive leads through the sales pipeline.
  • Works with existing customers to grow sales and improve sell through.
  • Partners with sales team to resolve conflicts and maximize territory sales.
  • Works closely with Customer Service, Marketing and Operations to act as the company liaison for assigned accounts.
  • Responds to requests from customers for information and gives online presentations.
  • Engages in discussions with potential clients through sales presentations and industry trade shows.
  • Remains knowledgeable and up-to-date on changes and developments in the wholesale, retail and e-commerce industries.
  • Documents and keeps management informed of all activity, including timely preparation of reports.
  • Tracks and measures all activities to drive sales performance.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position.

Travel

This position requires up to 20% travel attending relevant trade, buying group and customer shows as needed.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience with business-to-business sales
  • A minimum of three years in an inside sales or sales support role

  • Strong computer skills including internet research and NetSuite (or comparable CRM software) experience
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced, high growth environment
  • Ability to operate and excel with ambiguity
