What are reading sunglasses?
As the name implies, reading sunglasses are designed to provide sun correction for those with presbyopia who prefer to peruse their reading material of choice whilst sitting poolside. That means no more reaching for your normal readers and suffering through the sun’s glare, or getting sore arms from having to hold your novel a foot from your face. Essentially, they’re the answer to the prayers of sun-worshipping bookworms everywhere. Combine our UV-blocking tinted lenses with your reader strength of choice, and bada-bing bada-boom: you’ve got it made in the shade.
Can I get prescription reading sunglasses?
If you need both up-close and far-out vision correction, you’ve found yourself in precisely the right place. Consider our progressive reading sunglasses, your all-powerful fairy godmothers: they host your reader magnification on the bottom and your distance prescription up top. The different focus areas blend into each other, making the change – you guessed it – progressive. You’ll be able to see the page in front of you and ogle the lifeguard too. Look at you with your all-seeing eyes.
Can reading sunglasses be made with polarized lenses?
We like to think of ourselves as “yes” people, but there’s a good reason this one’s a no-go. While polarized lenses help offer extra protection from the sun’s glare, they also make it hard to read digital screens. Since reading sunglasses are made for, you know, reading, we want to make sure you’re able to read your phone, tablet, or GPS. Worry not: our non-polarized lenses still offer protection aplenty. You’ll forget you ever had to squint, we swear.
Are reading sunglasses available in different frame styles?
Is the sun hot? Survey says: most definitely. We have a boundless selection of fabulous frames ranging from retro aviators to hyper-neon geometrics, and any one of them can be reading sunglasses. Yep, you heard that right: any lenses can be fitted into almost any frame, so if you’ve been forced to choose function over fashion, your dog days are officially over. With our expansive array at your disposal, you’re guaranteed to find a pair of men’s or women’s prescription sunglasses you take a shine to.
What are the benefits of wearing reading sunglasses?
We’re so glad you asked. Reading sunglasses offer you a holy trinity of perks: sun protection, glare reduction, and of course, vision correction. They act like sunblock for your peepers by shielding them from harmful UV rays and reducing the glare from the sun. That means you’re free to browse the IKEA catalogue whilst lounging on your deck without straining your eyeballs. Another bonus: you won’t have to make the classic I-just-sucked-a-lemon face every time you’re squinting at your texts. We’re forecasting nothing but clear skies and easy eyes!
Would reading sunglasses be covered by my vision insurance?
Your vision insurance plan may partially or completely cover your new hot property. Make sure to check with your insurance provider for eligibility for an out-of-network provider. While eyebobs does not bill insurance companies directly, we would be happy to send you an itemized receipt after purchase that you can forward to your provider for reimbursement. Just pop into the chat box on our website, contact us at omfg@eyebobs.com, or give us a call at 1-866-393-2627.
Can I use reading sunglasses as regular sunglasses for other activities?
We get it; you’ve outgrown summer flings, and you want your relationship with your sunglasses to be more than an on-again-off-again thing. Enter prescription reader sunglass lenses. If you don’t happen to be well-versed in lens lore, allow us to shed some light on the subject. Progressive lenses have your reader magnification in the lower part of the frame and no magnification up top, but with half your magnification in the middle. Note that reading sunglasses with full reader lenses will likely compromise your distance vision, but sometimes there’s really no need to see beyond the end of your pina colada.
