Stylish Reading Glasses

Whether you’re newly near-sighted or a veteran of up-close vision correction, we’re here to tell you you’re far too sophisticated to allow drugstore readers anywhere near your eyeballs. Contrary to popular belief, it is highly possible to acquire readers that make you look both smart and stylish; ones that won’t mysteriously fall to bits within months.

Your frame of choice is entirely dependent on your face shape and personal style, but it doesn’t hurt to take note of what’s currently in vogue. If you prefer to stick with the classics, tortoiseshell frames like Boardroom are always a safe bet. For a hit of quirky glamour, try cat eyes like Oh Mama or clear frames like Waylaid. We’re also seeing a major retro revival, so feel free to take advantage by rocking familiar throwbacks like wiry metal frames or bold, thick-rimmed frames (bonus points for groovy geometric shapes a la Juxtaposition).

If you need both up-close and far-out vision correction, you’ve found yourself in precisely the right place. Consider our progressive readers your all-powerful fairy godmothers: they host your reader magnification on the bottom and your distance prescription up top. The different focus areas blend into each other, making the change – you guessed it – progressive. You’ll be able to wear them all day, every day, and thank goodness for that. Look at you with your all-seeing eyes.

We offer Italian-designed acetate and stainless steel metal frames, and these two options have some key differences in look and feel. Acetate is a higher-quality and thicker material compared to plastic, which makes it easier to incorporate eye-catching patterns and bold colors into the frame. We use luxury, Italian-designed acetate – only the best for you, our fearless readers. On the other hand, metal frames can often be lighter weight and are super strong, so they might be a good match for anyone who prefers a barely-there feel or is a bit tougher on their glasses. We use stainless steel, which is far more metal than other metals. You heard it here first, folks.

Are you sitting down? Okay, here goes: any one of our frames can be outfitted with reader lenses. Yep, you heard that right – we’re in the business of giving you every opportunity to find frames as distinct as you are, so we’ve got reader options as far as the eye can see. Go ahead and feast your eyes on our plethora of colors, patterns, and shapes. If you can envision it, we’ve probably got it.

Your vision insurance plan may partially or completely cover your new eye candy. Make sure to check with your insurance provider for eligibility for an out-of-network provider. While we do not bill insurance companies directly, we would be happy to send you an itemized receipt after purchase that you can forward to your provider for reimbursement. Just pop into the chat box on our website, contact us at omfg@eyebobs.com, or give us a call at 1-866-393-2627.

But of course! We reject the notion of one-size-fits-all as a matter of principle. Our readers run the gamut of head sizes, so whether you have a narrow, average, or wide-sized noggin, we’ve got well-fitting frames aplenty. Rather than choosing between comfort and aesthetic value, why not have both? Mosey on over to our Fit Guide to find the reader that fits you.

Timeless, earthy-hued tortoise reading glasses are always in style, but if you’re looking to come out of your shell, this classic pattern has seen an uptick in popularity thanks to its unorthodox new hues. Try Case Closed in black and white tortoise or Board Stiff in tortoise and navy to see what we mean. Or, if you’re feeling especially nonconformist, dazzle onlookers with vivid hues like Temple Tantrum in milky pink or Small Fry in matte green apple.

That would be a resounding “yes.” There’s nothing worse than finally finding a dreamy pair of readers, only to find that they’re supremely unflattering once you try them on. The best way to avoid that colossal let-down is to take your face shape into consideration. As a general rule, those with more angular features will be best suited to round, organic shapes, while rounder-faced folks will look their best in frames with sharper angles.
